JUST IN: Legendary James Bond Star Dies Suddenly

James Bond fans are in mourning today after it was announced that Sir Roger Moore, who played the iconic role in seven movies between 1973 and 1985, has passed away. He was 89 years-old.

BBC reported that Moore’s family confirmed his death and said that he died after “a short but brave battle with cancer.”

“Thank you Pops for being you, and being so very special to so many people,” Moore’s children said in a statement. “With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated.”

“The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone,” read the statement from Debora, Geoffrey and Christian. “Our thoughts must now turn to supporting Kristina [his wife] at this difficult time.”

Moore reportedly died in Switzerland and will have a private funeral in Monaco. During his lifetime, he was the star of some of the most iconic films in the James Bond franchise, including “Live and Let Die” and “The Spy Who Loved Me.”

Rest in peace, Sir Roger Moore!
