Music Legend Dies Suddenly – Fans In Mourning

The music world is in mourning this week after Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers Band passed away. He was 69 years-old.

The music legend reportedly died of cancer, and his fans were heartbroken to see him go.

Allman was known as a musician, singer and songwriter who was the frontman for famous band, The Allman Brothers Band. He was a part of the band for over 45 years and TMZ has all of the details on his death.

According to the news site, Allman was battling a serious case of liver cancer. They also shared that Allman’s longtime manager released a statement about Allman’s death saying that he died peacefully at his home Saturday in Savannah, Georgia.

He was diagnosed with cancer over 5 years ago, and he just hasn’t been able to really get on top of it all. He’s had many complications with his health over the years having to cancel/postpone many concerts in between.

Although he has passed away, he has left behind something for fans to hold on to. His manager shared that Allman had just completed a full album before his death. The album is set to be released sometime in September of 2017.

This isn’t the only tragic death that the band has experienced either. Greg’s brother Duane, who helped found the band, died in a tragic motorcycle accident in 1971.

Allman was known for his long blonde hair and being a rock n’ blues pioneer along with his brother Duane. They founded their band in 1969, and Gregg rocked with them until their final show in 2014.
He became the band’s frontman in 1971 after Duane was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident. He composed such hits as “Midnight Rider,” “Whipping Post” and “Melissa.”

Gregg is survived by his wife, Shannon Allman, 5 children (including a son he had with Cher) 3 grandchildren and a large extended family. Please keep them all in your prayers during this devastating time…

Rest in peace, Gregg Allman!
