Liberals put some of the strictest gun control laws in the country in place in Chicago, Illinois to lower the staggering gun crime rate there. However, these laws have done absolutely nothing to stop the numerous shootings that take place there.

This was proven once again this week, when five people were injured in Chicago shootings in a six hour period between Friday night and Saturday morning.

The Chicago Tribune reported that the final shooting occurred at around 1am on Friday on the Far South Side, where a 41 year-old man was grazed in the chest during a home invasion. Two men entered his home and he began to struggle with them for their gun. At some point, the gun went off, and the victim was grazed with the bullet. No further details are available.

A 34 year-old man was shot in the right arm and torso in the Southwest Side’s Chicago Lawn neighborhood at around 12:05am. He was standing outside when a gunman in a blue Sedan opened fire on him. The victim is now in stable condition.

A 15 year-old boy was wounded in a shooting that occurred in the Humboldt Park neighborhood at around 10pm Thursday. The boy was involved in a fight with alleged gang members, and one of them pulled out a gun and shot at the teen. He was grazed in the arm and is now in stable condition.

A 34 year-old man was standing in the Wicker Park neighborhood when two men approached him and demanded his belongings. After the man gave them his wallet and his cellphone, they shot him in the left hand and fled. He is now in good condition.

The final injured victim is a 29 year-old man who was critically injured during a robbery in the South Side at around 7:50pm. He was rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the abdomen and buttock.

Clearly, stricter gun control laws are NOT the answer to stopping gun crime!
